THE DARK SIDE OF MILK

THE DARK SIDE OF MILK

Many of us grew up on it.Industry suggests we still need it. But half the world's adults can't digest it.Those who can, risk disease when they take it. Paediatricians warn it could trigger allergic reactions, anaemia and diabetes in small children.
Cardiologists say it would clog our arteries. Scientists say it could give us cancer. And anthropologists say after the age of 2, we don't need it.
MILK: Delicious, delightful - and deadly.
WHAT'S in the milk you drink? Plenty you don't know about. Scientific research 1930s have all found milk to be either an imperfect food, or a deadly poison.
Why drinking milk is bad for health? It cause of sickness of -
- weakens the bones and accelerates osteoporosis.
- Osteoporosis results from calcium loss, not sufficient calcium intake. calcium lost from our bones due to excess protein ends up in our urine. Produce very high levels of calcium in the kidney system - all too often crystallising into kidney stones.
- early maturity.
- childhood diabetes. Cow's milk protein can even reach a breastfeeding baby if the mother drinks milk. If you concerned for your child, breastfeed. While cow's milk increases risk of Type 1 diabetes, studies shown that breastfeeding protects against the disease.
- milk proteins can also cause colic, a digestive upset in infants.cow's milk contains many proteins (eg: casein) that are poorly digested and are harmful to the immune system.
- milk revs up stomach acid production. Research found milk to be a more potent "stimulus of gastric acid secretion" than coffee, cola, tea and alcohol.
- Sinus and respiratory problems.
-heart disease.high cholesterol.arthritis.
- iron-deficiency anaemia in infants.populations that consume large amounts of dairy products have a much higher incidence of cataracts.
- multiple sclerosis.
- leukaemia.
- allergies.
- breast, prostate & colon cancers.

MILK IS A PROBLEM FOR HALF OF WORLD'S ADULTS
Milk is not necessary in an adult's diet. In children, it is needed as a short-term nutrient only in the first 2 years of life. That is why all mammals wean their babies. Yet, of all mammals, only humans continue to drink beyond babyhood! Why isn't milk necessary in our diet? Health reasons apart. the answer to why milk is not necessary can be found in Nature.Milk contains a milk sugar lactose, which has to be broken down into glucose and galactose before milk can be digested. Nature provides newborns with an enzyme called lactose for this breakdown process. But this ability often disappears by age 4 or 5. Most adults do not have enzyme in their body for lactose digestion.
In fact, virtually all mammals lose the ability to digest lactose as they get older.THINK about it. WHY does Mother Nature give us the ability to metabolism lactose for a few years and then shut off the mechanism completely? Because milk is not meant to be in our diet for life. In fact, cow's milk has been in the human diet for only less than 10,000 years - that is, when dairy farming started in some parts of northern Europe.
Milk is thus not a staple food, but an "ethnic food".
